Alkali Zellulose PRESSE
For squeezing the surplus caustic out of slurry in continuous alkalicellulose production.
Features
- Suitable for short fibre pulp, long fibre pulp and pulp mixtures
- Optimum operation up to 6% slurry consistence
- Uniform cellulose content over the whole length due to precise grinding of rollers after welding
- Drilled sieve plates
- New scraper design for completely clean operation
In Detail
The slurry is pumped into the trough of the AC-press at the correct pressure. On the upper side of the trough two rollers run in opposite directions. Forced by the pressure in the trough, the slurry is compacted between these perforated press rollers.
During pressing, the lye enters the inside of the rollers and the remaining solid part of the slurry is released through the adjustable gap between them. Most of the lye is squeezed out of the slurry, so that, from this section, the slurry is separated into the soda lye and so called alkalicellulose. The soda lye is filtered in a press lye filter for further use in the soda lye station. To open the surface of the pressed fleece of alkalicellulose, it has to pass a pre-shredder, which is mounted on the slurry press.
The pre-shredder consists of a toothed screw conveyor, which performs the initial shredding of the alkalicellulose fleece coming out of the AC-press.
The pressure in the trough, the pressure between the rollers, the rotational speed of the slurry press and the speed of the slurry pump are fully automatically controlled by the process control system.
